Built in a Parking Lot, Driven by a Cause
First City Hang Out is a grassroots automotive community and charity organization based in Lawrenceville, Illinois. We are blue collar to the core, high energy, and proudly not corporate. There is no velvet rope here and no membership fee at the door. There is just a lot full of great rides and the kind of people who will hand you a wrench before you finish asking.
We throw car and bike meetups, cruise ins, swap meets, drag race nights and burnout competitions all season long. Some nights are all about the noise. Others are about the slow roll through downtown at sunset, kids waving from the sidewalk, a firetruck rolling with the pack. Every one of them is about the same thing: bringing this community together around the machines we love.
Cruise for a Cause
The charity side is not a footnote for us, it is the point. Through our Cruise for a Cause events we turn car meets into fundraisers for local families and causes that need a hand. When you show up, run your car, or drop a donation at sign in, you are putting fuel in something bigger than any single build.
All Makes, All Bikes, All Welcome
Muscle cars and motorcycles. Classics and customs. Hot rods, gassers, imports, trucks and the daily driver you are still working on. Everybody is welcome in this lot, and everybody gets the same respect. Bring the family, bring the kids, bring whatever you drove in. We are affiliated with the Southern Indiana Region SCCA, and we are always glad to see a new face roll up for the first time.
